Our Family

Doug and Shannen met in college at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1998.  We quickly became good friends, but then lost track of one another shortly after graduation.  This happy couple reunited in early 2007 and were married October 3, 2009.

We welcomed our little miracle, Samantha, into the world on May, 30, 2011. We are so grateful for this amazing blessing.  Please see the blog posts for the amazing story of her conception and delivery.

We currently have two rescue pups, Emma and Cody.  Emma joined our family in December of 2009, with Cody following shortly after in January 2010.  They are energetic, excitable, and can be described as furry bundles of trouble!  They currently attend daycare a few times a week to run off their naughty streaks.

Also included in our family are four members that are unseen.  We have lost several children early in pregnancy. Hope went to Heaven in January 2010, Noah joined his sister in April of 2010, little Aiden gave us a brief "hello" in January of 2012, and Landen joined her siblings in November 2012.  While we were never able to hold them in our arms, our hearts held them for their brief time with us.  We look forward to meeting our sweet children in Heaven.
